Girl’s trips have always been something women of all ages have enjoyed taking. There are even several movies based on them! Women make up 56 percent of leisure travelers. This means a vacation spot that ticks off many boxes in one location is important. The Orlando World Center Marriott does all of that, and more, making it a great place for a girlfriend weekend getaway.

Located 18 miles from Orlando International Airport (MCO), 4 miles from the Disney World parks and attractions and 70 miles from Tampa, the Orlando World Center Marriott is easy to get to and is close to everything the Orlando/Kissimmee area has to offer.
And with everything being close by, it’s easy for females traveling together to have plenty of things to do. Even better? There’s absolutely no reason to ever leave the hotel if you choose not to. It sounds crazy, but with 200 acres of land, everything is within reach while staying there.
Accommodations
With over 2,000 rooms at the resort, there’s a variety of different types of accommodations to choose from. With views of the pool, golf course, water park, or summer fireworks shows, visitors have plenty of options to choose from. There are even suites and connecting rooms that are perfect for large groups who need a little more space.
For a small girl’s weekend getaway, the refurbished rooms with two queen beds are perfect. Hard flooring replaces typical hotel carpet, keeping things cleaner. The large rooms provide plenty of space to move around and a balcony lets you sit outside and enjoy a drink. The bathrooms are even large, with a separate area for double sinks and a long countertop.
Marriott World Center Orlando Pool & River Falls Waterpark
No vacation to Marriott World Center is complete without hanging out by the water. And with access to both River Falls waterpark and Falls Pool Oasis, your girl’s weekend will be a splash.
The brand new River Falls waterpark isn’t just for kids. The three enclosed tube slides are fun for everyone of all ages. And the lazy river can be enjoyed with a tube or by casually walking. And with The Cargo Bar on the side, you can hop in and out of the river to grab the drink of your choice. There are plenty of lounge chairs and rentable cabanas to relax in when you’re not in the water.
At Falls River Oasis, a zero-entry lagoon pool awaits a day of relaxation. There are plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas and cabanas here as well. The pool is so large, that it’s hard to feel crowded. Three large screen TVs show sports and on select nights, movies are shown as well.
The Oasis also has three body slides, a kiddie splash area and slide, and a hot tub area. Don’t worry about going hungry – the pool’s bar and grill have plenty of food and drink choices. Just lift the flag on your chaise lounge and service will be delivered right to your chair. Letting you and the girls lay out and relax without going hungry . . . or thirsty!
Food & Drinks
Speaking of food and drinks, if you’re a foodie, you won’t miss out while on your girlfriend weekend getaway. Nine dining options, including room service, are available to get any meal of the day.
Many times at hotels, meal options tend to be the same whatever restaurant you head to on-site. The complete opposite is true at World Center Marriott. A unique feature of the resort that stands out every time you order is every food venue has its own head chef. So each menu is specifically developed for that restaurant. So the burger you get at High Velocity sports bar will taste different than the burger you grab at the Oasis Pool.
The variety available is also different. Mikado Japanese Steak House is perfect if you’re looking for a meal full of entertainment. Siro Urban Italian Kitchen is intimately lit and a great place for a small group or to sit at the bar for appetizers and wine. Looking for bottomless mimosas during brunch? Latitude & Longitude offers those, along with a breakfast buffet or a la carte options. There’s even freshly rolled sushi in The Lobby Lounge!
If you need a nosh but don’t feel like sitting in a formal restaurant, head to the Central Pantry. Full of everything edible you need during your stay, you can purchase beer, wine, soda, and snacks. There’s also a place to order hot food to go.
Get Pampered at Your Girlfriend Weekend Getaway
Getting away from everyday life for the weekend means relaxation. Make it even more relaxing by getting pampered at the onsite spa. Manicures, massages, facials, and waxing are all available to help make the getaway extra special.
If pampering for you and your friends means getting exercise and fresh air, head to the resort’s fitness center or championship 18-hole par 70 golf course.
Disney World Shuttle Service
Located less than 4 miles from Walt Disney World, the Orlando World Center Marriott has a free shuttle to all four parks and the Disney Springs food and entertainment venue. Just register online for what time you want to head over and be picked up, and meet the shuttle right outside the lobby doors. And don’t worry about space – the shuttle is on a full-sized bus with plenty of seating to go around.
Fees at Orlando World Center Marriott
Like almost every hotel in the Orlando area, there is a daily resort fee and a parking fee when staying at Orlando World Center Marriott. The resort fee includes access to the pool, water slide areas, Disney shuttle service, fitness center, and WiFi.
Don’t Forget . . .
When visiting the Orlando World Center Marriott for a girl’s weekend away, there’s a lot going on and plenty to remember. Here are some things not to forget when you visit:
- Plan ahead when looking for reservations at the restaurants. They book up quickly.
- Bring a reusable water bottle with you – the pool and water park areas have cold water in dispensers to help you stay better hydrated.
- At the Oasis pool, an automatic 18% charge is added to your food/drink bill. This is the only venue where this happes. Feel free to add an extra tip because the servers do a great job.
- Book a room with a view.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen while out at the pool. Protecting your skin in the hot Florida sun not only helps prevent skin cancer but can prevent heat exhaustion as well.
- Bring a bottle of wine and some snacks with you if you’re able to. Each room has a mini fridge to keep things cold and it will help save a little money.
- If you happen to forget something or don’t have room to pack it, don’t worry. The resort has several gift shops with pool floats, sunscreen, bathing suits, coverups, and souvenirs.
- The resort is completely cash free – everything is paid with a credit card or charged to your room. But don’t forget to bring some cash so you can tip the housekeepers and valets.
- Have fun!
